 1      L2E Job Club Instructor

POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for developing and providing client instruction in vocational job search skills. Provide classroom instruction in orientation to work, employer expectations, personal planning for job success, job search skills and employment retention skills. Assists clients in active job search efforts. Documents all job referrals and follow-up in progress notes and update forms. Job development and placement.

 2      HSE Program Instructor

LOCATION: Modesto

SALARY: $45 - $50K YR, Full Time, Benefits & 401(k)

POSITION SUMMARY: The HSE teaches students in five high school subjects; thus, the HSE Instructor must have a wide-ranging knowledge of these areas (math, science, reading, writing, and social studies). In addition, the incumbent must have experience working with non-traditional and at-risk students. The instructor must be able to teach classes for ABE students not yet ready to participate in HSE preparation classes. Particularly important to this position is experience with math, reading instruction and disability diagnosis. In addition, the HSE Instructor must have sensitivity to the needs of limited academic performing adults. In order for the students to learn effectively, they must trust the Instructor. In order for trust to build, the Instructor must understand the problems which the students face. Furthermore, the HSE Instructor must be flexible and versatile in order to teach students with a diverse array of learning impediments.

3       Construction/Wx Crewperson

LOCATION: Ceres

SALARY: $20.00/HR. Regular, Full Time, Benefits & 401(k)

POSITION SUMMARY: The position entails responsibility for assessing, ensuring quality, compliance, and safe installation of weatherization measures in homes. This involves drawing up job orders, cost estimates, and program reports. The primary function includes construction and installation of weatherization materials and approved repairs. Duties include conducting on-site inspections, developing work orders, performing necessary home repairs, installing weatherization materials and energy conservation devices, ensuring equipment safety, and maintaining inventory control. Requirements include no prior experience (training provided), a high school diploma/GED with math and writing skills, a clean driving record with a valid California driver’s license and auto insurance, and passing pre-employment drug testing with enrollment in ongoing random drug testing. Helpful qualifications include experience in customer service, knowledge of minor home repairs, and completion of relevant weatherization courses leading to state certification.

4       HEP Instructor

LOCATION: Winton

SALARY: $45 - 48K/YR., DOE. Full Time, Benefits & 401(k)

POSITION SUMMARY: The HEP teaches students in five high school subjects; thus, the HEP Instructor must have a wide-ranging knowledge of these areas (math, science, reading, writing, and social studies). In addition, the incumbent must have experience working with non-traditional and at-risk students. Many of the students speak English either as a second language or not at all. The HEP Instructor must be able to teach these students in an effective manner over the course of the 16 week program. Particularly important to this position is experience with math, reading instruction and disability diagnosis. In addition, the HEP Instructor must have cultural sensitivity to the needs of migrant farm workers. In order for the students to learn effectively, they must trust the Instructor. In order for trust to build, the Instructor must understand the problems which the students face. Furthermore, the HEP Instructor must be flexible and versatile in order to teach students with a diverse array of learning impediments.
